“Trousseau brings lightness, well-being and comfort for those who wish to see the Amazon in style”

INTERVIEW
  • 1) What was the inspiration for creating the project/design for the Hotel?

The architectural project was rooted in sustainable practices, utilizing solar heating, biological water treatment, natural ventilation and LED lighting. The design was by the architect Adriana Da Riva, whom sought to integrate luxurious elements with simplicity, while always valuing the beauty of the natural atmosphere where the hotel is located. So that from within the bar or restaurant, one can appreciate the beautiful view through large pivoting doors and screen walls, and still be able to count on the comfort that exists in each detail. Candle lit tables, well-kept gardens, spacious sofas and a central fireplace under the stars complement the dream-like atmosphere. The bungalows, built individually in the middle of the Amazon rainforest, include a bed with Trousseau linen, external shower in a private garden and comfortable armchairs, all of which are an invitation to an unforgettable night’s sleep.

    2) Which are the main differentials the hotel offers?

Cristalino possess the following differentials: - Personalized service with groups of up to 8 people per guide, which translates into a much richer experience with nature, where visitors have a chance of really knowing the Amazon in a unique manner, with care for each traveller. - Buildings designed by Adriana Da Riva, with beautiful spaces and accommodation. -A serious commitment to sustainability, with dozens of practices of responsible tourism, which range from recycling to the treatment of black and grey effluent. Recently, the Cristalino received the “Green Leader” Gold category on TripAdvisor, and was elected the World Savers Awards, the maximum prize given to hotels with environmental responsibilities.

    3) The lifestyle of people who live in the amzon is focused on nature and well-being. In which way have you brought these elements to the guest's day to day experience at the hotel?

The well-being and nature elements are present in practically all our actions. From the preparation of foods with organic ingredients produced on our land, with a menu by the chef Ricardo Cunha; to the beautiful nature walks through the Cristalino reserve, which we look after with great respect. The whole concept of the hotel is based on the idea that a rich experience with nature will transform the attitudes of people. Observing the sunrise from the observation tower is something that stays with you, it will always remain in the recollection of our guests.

    4) How have Trousseau products added value to the hotel?

Trousseau products like the 300 thread-count bed linen and pure cotton towels complete the guest experience, guaranteeing a great bath and a good night’s sleep after the days explorations. And for the cold nights between June and October, embroidered quilts offer the cosiness needed for a good rest. The Cristalino seeks to offer comfort in what is essential, reminding guests that good moments, the trips and experiences we live are the most valuable things one can have. All this, with Trousseau products, adds value to the experience.

We would recommend a few key attractions at Cristalino: -Visit the chestnut trail, where you can see a chestnut tree which is approximately 800 years old. -Go up the tower before sunrise, to see the morning break from the top of the trees. -Canoeing on Cristalino River. Walk along the mountain range trail, to see another type of vegetation, from deciduous forest, which loses its leaves during the drought period. In this region, there are beautiful views of the reserve.
